The
Philadelphia Nursing Home has developed several specialty
programs that provide the least restrictive, home like
environment for residents with complex medical and
psychological needs by focusing specialized
inter-disciplinary resources on specific units.
The
programs include: dementia, young adult, AIDS, and a mens
behavioral unit.
A
professionally trained social work staff assist residents
and families with social and psychological problems related
to admission, diagnosis, and treatment. The staff also
provide support in the area of discharge planning, advance
directives, counseling, substance abuse, vocational
evaluation, rehabilitation, and education.
Recreation programs are designed to incorporate the personal
interests of each resident. Daily activities encompass a
wide range of subjects including music, sports, games,
ceramics, horticulture, and reading. Community outings to
numerous locations, including shopping, sporting events, and
theaters are planned.
A
Chaplain provides spiritual support to residents and
families as well as coordinating the various church-related
services.
A
community out-reach volunteer program encourages friendly
visits, and assistance with facility functions. |
